Ahoy! Where’re me buccaneers? An awesome left field project for Trusty when called on by Making Waves who have empowered hundreds of young people with disability and youth experiencing disadvantages to discover their potential through sailing. The task to assist with design & build of an educational sailing kit for instructors to demonstrate the methods of sailing prior hitting the water. The yacht is built from layers of honeycomb polyprop, hinged mainsail that fixes into position with a friction ring and slots into a rotatable MDF base all designed for quick assembly. The kit includes a cloth map, wind directional arrow, yacht module and lighthouse sitting snugly in a self locking box made from recycled polypropylene.
